Case Study: ADT

Advanced Dicing Technologies Ltd, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of dicing solutions for the Microelectronic Industry, partnered with AMCG to implement Lean principles and gained competitive advantages

ADT manufactures dicing saws, laser scribing systems, dicing blades and processes with a variety of capabilities and levels of automation to suit an ever-growing range of customer requirements. The company wanted to enable growth by improving response and lead times, adding capacity without increasing resources, and by cutting production costs.

AMCG started the project in partnership with ADT by performing an operational assessment to determine the best operational strategy to achieve the company's goals. During the assessment AMCG performed a Lean audit and gap analysis, developed an Operations Excellence implementation program and set the improvement measurement goals.

The implementation phase included conducting several Kaizen events, improving key organizational business processes, achieving production line balance and introducing a Pull and Flow production system. The best fit Lean tools were chosen and implemented. Operational metrics were analyzed and developed. AMCG also trained and coached ADT Kaizen events facilitators to ensure Lean transformation sustainability beyond the engagement.

The program results are:

  • • 35% reduction in lead time
  • • 30% improvement in productivity
  • • 50% reduction in set-up times
